Sarah Green

I’m Sarah. I have been a podcaster for the Board Game BBQ since its inception in 2020. Before that, I was blogging about games on tabletopsauce.com.

As a kid, I enjoyed playing board games, but it wasn’t until my dad brought home Hero Quest that my passion really kicked in. I felt like I was transported to another world. I started collecting games seriously around 2012 and got into heavy euros and cooperative games mostly.

Right now, I am into anything that breaks new ground or gives me a new challenge. I am in the playtesting stage with my own board game called Corruptcity with Co-designer Armando Canales.

Matthew Lee

Matthew is the editor of tabletop lifestyle magazine The Campaigner, which he began publishing in 2012. His is Director of tabletop media company Motive Force Media, co-founder of game design studio Logic Engine, a member of Tabletop Game Designers Australia, and helped found the South Australia-based game design community Think Tank. On top of all this Matthew works in the printing industry, and has a very understanding wife and pets.

Derek ‘Dez’ Maggs

Dez is the main force behind the tech, gadgets and boardgames website DezDoes. Prior to running his own site Dez has contributed to a swag of media outlets, including ATGN, goto.game, and his smooth voice can be heard on a number of podcasts and videos.

Mark Rickards

Jules Watson

I’m Jules and I currently live in Melbourne. I love everything about board games! The social bonding, mental workouts and endless entertainment. I grew up playing board games and other tabletop war games such as Warhammer 40k but I got more serious about the hobby in 2016 when I was introduced to games such as Cosmic Encounter. My favourite genre of board games is area control/war games aka “dudes on a map”. I have the smallest board game collection in the BBQ crew but to me, the collection is the cream of the crop!

As a photographer I decided to combine these two passions and start an Instagram account dedicated to board game photography called Mates and Meeples.

I also do a lot of commission miniature painting which I love! You can see my work here julesminipainter.com
